Bad Boy – The Stereotype Of A “Bad Boy” From A Male Perspective

Man. I read an article on the Internet the other day – I know, weird.

I read this article about how there are basically two types of guys. The “marriage guy” and the “bad boy”. The article started out by breezing over how a marriage guy will be pretty obvious from the start, because he’ll say stuff like “I’m planning to get married as soon as possible,” and “I’m looking to settle down and start a family.” It spent all of two sentences saying how lovely and loyal and loving marriage guy is. Fuck, if you want loyal, buy a dog.

The rest of the article was basically bashing bad boys, saying they had several sorts of mental conditions… why is he like that? did he not get enough love from his mother as a child? does he have a chemical imbalance? … then proceeding to say how you might land one of these tasty morsels for your own, in your own mouth… to taste it.

All the literal text in the article was saying that marriage guy is good, and bad boy is bad. But if you read between the lines… it says marriage guy is boring and nothin spesh, and bad boy is fascinating and deserving of your fantasy time.

Come on man… Bad boys are rubbish, love you and leave you, blah blah blah. Nice guys would do the same if they weren’t so desperate.

It’s funny, because there’s all these articles on the net saying how to get your man ready for marriage. Myself, I know exactly when a bad boy is going to be ready for marriage… Simple: When he fucking feels like it. If he’s any sort of a man, he’s not going to be hectored or needled or nagged into marriage. If he doesn’t want to marry you, chances are he’s not done with his player dayz… or you’re just not interesting.

By the by, I heard they’re making “He’s Just Not That Into You” into an inspiring movie. If I were directing that movie, I would just flash the words “GET OVER IT LOSER” in red and white, over and over again, for one hour and forty two minutes. Starring Sarah-Jessica Parker as the letter O… She might have to gain a bit of weight for the role.

Anyway, girls want to domesticate a bad boy, suck the pap out of him, then when they do… they find they’re not all that attracted to him. It’s a curious fact of life. It’s a sad fact of life if you’re not a bad arse like me.

This article in New Scientist claims that guys with the “dark triad” of “evil tendencies” get laid more often.

I picture a nerd in a white lab coat shouting ecstatically in a nasal voice “Yes! Now Linda will love me, she’ll find out all her other lovers (who were emotionally engaging, whom she had really amazing sex with) are actually evil!”

Sure, so bad boys are slightly evil, they’ll break your heart, take you on all sorts of emotional ups and downs, but hey, so do roller-coasters. …Roller-coasters break hearts don’t they? Carnies are evil at least.

And ohhhh yeah… Once I looked up Paul Janka on Google. He’s this guy in America who gets laid… he got a bit famous off it somehow. Anyways, there were a lot of articles by young ladies starting out by saying something like “So this guy Paul got my number… I realised it was Paul Janka, so I decided it’d be interesting to see what it’s like to date a piece of shit.” Sure, pumpkin. You wondered what it might be like to date a piece of shit? No, you were attracted to him and wanted to find out more.

One of them was journalistic in style, where the girl gets drinks with Janka, goes back to his place, and gets into bed with him… while still interviewing him. I guess she did it to make him comfortable… so to speak.
