Good afternoon Hurt,

Thank you for your flight request, we appreciate your inquiry, and we hope we can answer all your questions and assist you in finding the cheapest airfare! We do flights from Melbourne to Bogota at $1,299 per person – return flight, this is inclusive of all airport fees and taxes and also includes full comprehensive insurance. There are no other fees to pay outside of the price we quote you, insurance is included at no additional cost to you and we provide this to ensure security and peace of mind for all our passengers.

Please let me know if this suits you, and if you’d like us to go ahead and book your flights. We will provide a flight itinerary upon request if you like. If you have any particular preferred times of travel on the day these can be arranged as well, but bear in mind that flights at certain times of the day tend to be more higher priced, the quote we have given you is the cheapest on the day.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance!

Best regards,
Peter

Hello Kurt, so sorry about the name mistake!

You submitted the following flight dates

Fly out date: Saturday, October 1, 2011
Return flight date: Monday, October 3, 2011

I assume you meant Nov 1-3, which I’ve sorted for you

[What followed was a flight itinerary, copied and pasted from delta.com, with the prices removed, but with some links to delta.com intact. I checked delta.com later for the same itinerary, and the price was around $5300]

Ah, actually the dates I requested were 10/1/11 and 10/3/11.. you must have a problem with the webform on your site.

the site seems to suggest all your flights are with qantas, but this itinerary you’ve just given me is with delta airways and v australia

Hello,

We receive over 3000 requests daily and we never have forum submission inaccuracies unless they are user errors. I will update your entry though with the required information.

Our website has never stated we are only associated with Qantas Airlines, we have relationships with over 35 airlines worldwide.

There are not very many airlines offering flights to your chosen airline, if you have a particular preference – please elaborate

Regards

Right.  Peter, I’m going to be frank with you.

Your site doesn’t look like a travel agency site – it looks like a free Joomla template.  The site ends in “.au”, but you accept the dates in American format MM/DD/YYYY.  I think your site is unprofessional, and while I’d like to believe you can get me a flight to Bogota for $1299, I just don’t trust you or your company.  Your site seems to be either a very poorly managed company, or a poorly considered scam.

Nevertheless, please send me the updated itinerary for the dates 10th January 2011 to 10th March 2011, and I will consider them when I’m booking flights.

Kurt

Kurt,

Our site has been designed by a reputable design agency – an American based agency, we use an advanced CRM system which is formatted in American timetables, because essentially, frivolous details such as date arrangement mean nothing.

In regards to your statement unprofessional, we’d love a bit more detail.

If you don’t trust our company, we encourage you to issue a valid excuse as to how you circumnavigate our *everything up front* company policy, meaning we take 101% of the risk, and then … cease contact with us.

In response to your statement – a poorly managed company/scam, we’d love a little more detail here as well.

Okay, I will give you a little more detail.  You request the dates in a foreign format, and then tell me that it’s my fault when I enter the dates incorrectly.  You tell me that date arrangement is a frivolous meaningless detail, when I am making a purchase of more than a thousand dollars – effectively telling me it doesn’t matter if I make a thousand dollar purchase of the wrong flight.  You request payment for the flights before even sending me an itinerary.  You ignore my repeated requests for an updated itinerary.  You spell my first name wrong.  You cut and paste the itinerary off delta.com’s flight search page without removing their links.  You did remove their price though.  You told me $1299.  The flights for those dates cost over $5000 through Delta direct.

And finally, you construct sentences like this “If you don’t trust our company, we encourage you to issue a valid excuse as to how you circumnavigate our *everything up front* company policy, meaning we take 101% of the risk, and then … cease contact with us.” – which are an offense to the English language and all common sense.

That is how you are unprofessional, and that is why I am going to report you to the appropriate authorities.
